Dr. Elias T. Kanaan

DR. ELIAS T. KANAAN

Dr. Elias T. Kanaan has been a fixture in Livingston medicine since 1998, specializing in adult patients 18 years of age and older. He founded IMNA (now known as West Park Primary Care)  in 2005 as a practice devoted to improving the health of his community- a goal which he works towards in his role as Health Officer for Polk County, an office he has held since 2005. Dr. Kanaan’s dedication to his patients has also enabled him to previously serve as Chief of Staff at Memorial Medical Center, as well as Chief of Medicine at both Memorial Medical Center and Cleveland Regional Hospital. As a primary care physician, Dr. Kanaan acts as the gatekeeper of his patients’ health and dedicates himself to their overall well-being. By taking the time to get to know everyone who visits his office, Dr. Kanaan is able treat the person as a whole and not simply the disease or concern that is affecting them. He is known in the community for the all-inclusive nature of his practice, and follows up with patients should they require a specialist referral, hospitalization or nursing home care. Dr. Kanaan is committed to this partnership for health that he builds with his patients, and to providing IMNA’s characteristic in-depth, detailed and holistic care for his community.

When he is away from the office, Dr. Kanaan enjoys fishing and spending time with his wife and their two sons, Leo and Andrew.
